Frequently asked questions
How long are lost items kept on the Korean subway?
Operators usually keep found items for up to 7 days and then hand them over to the police station, which keeps them for about 6 months. Contact the line’s lost & found center as soon as possible.
Can I get help in English?
Korea Travel Hotline 1330 (Korea Tourism Organization, 24 hours, interpretation in English, Chinese and Japanese; +82-2-1330 from abroad) can help you call a lost & found center in Korean.
Where can I search for found items online?
On Police Civil Service 24 (minwon24.police.go.kr), which took over LOST112 in January 2026. You can search found items and file a loss report there (Korean only).
Which lost & found center handles my line?
Each subway line has its own operator. Find your line in the list on this page — for example Seoul Metro runs Lines 2–8 and the Seoul Station–Cheongnyangni section of Line 1, Korail runs the rest of Line 1 and the Gyeongui-Jungang, Gyeongchun and Suin-Bundang Lines, and AREX runs the airport railroad.
